Happy Easter!

Dear Parishioners,

A very Happy and Blessed Easter!   With Lent now behind us, and the beautiful services of the Triduum completed, we welcome Easter with joy and thanksgiving!  Our celebration of this great event cannot be contained to one day.  The Easter season stretches out until Pentecost, which this year is June 9th.  The Resurrection defines for us, as it did for the original disciples our very identity.  The reality of this event is central to who we are as redeemed believers, people who choose every day to live as people of the Resurrection!  It can’t be overstated!  Peter and the other disciple, John, race to the tomb, unable to believe what they have heard.  The body of Jesus is not there.  Only the trappings of death remain.  While we understand their confusion we must know for sure this day and every day that indeed life returns, stronger than death!   On this Easter day, and in the days of joy and triumph to come, let us always give thanks with our very lives for the good that God has brought about through Jesus, our risen Lord. Let us encourage others to see in Christ what we see! To see and believe!  Let the beauty of this day forever change us.  It is Easter 2019!  There has never been another, and there will never be one like it again!  Let us truly rejoice and give thanks!  Fr. Elston
